Brewers Secure Series Win Over Phillies With 7-5 Victory

The Milwaukee Brewers have bounced back from the two losses in Chicago, by earning two wins against the Philadelphia Phillies in the first two games of their weekend series. On Saturday night, the Brewers bats came alive again to earn a 7-4 win.

Kyle Schwarber homered to start the game for the Phillies for the second straight night. So the Brewers found themselves down 1-0 early. The Phillies added another run on a home run by J.T. Realmuto in the second inning to extend the lead to 2-0.

However, Milwaukee answered back with three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead.

Brewers starter Colin Rea did his job in place of the injured Adrian Houser. He pitched into the fifth inning and allowed just one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Brewers scored four runs to blow the game open. The inning was highlighted by a two-run home run by Carlos Santana and the Brewers led 7-2.

The Phillies tried to claw back against the Milwaukee bullpen, but could only muster three more runs. The Brewers won 7-5.

Milwaukee is 76-59 and lead the Chicago Cubs by 4.5 games in the NL Central. The Brewers will play the final game against Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon at 12:05pm at American Family Field. Join Tim Allen after the game on 973 The Game and the iHeart Radio App.
