Brewers Lose 7-3 To Rockies After Ugly 10th Inning

Sometimes just one inning can lose a team a baseball game, and that was the case on Tuesday night for the Milwaukee Brewers. A rough tenth inning for Milwaukee gave the Colorado Rockies a 7-3 win over the hometown team on Tuesday night.

Let's start from the beginning. Both pitches cruised through the first three innings.

In the top of the fourth inning, Nolan Jones hit a solo home run to give Colorado a 1-0 lead. That was answered by a William Contreras home run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at one.

Wade Miley was dominant on the mound for the Brewers and kept the Rockies quiet for the rest of his outing. He pitched six innings and allowed just one run.

Milwaukee took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when Mark Canha hit an RBI double to right field that scored Brian Anderson. The Brewers led 2-1.

Unfortunately, Elvis Peguero surrendered the lead in the seventh inning. He allowed back-to-back home runs to give Colorado a 3-2 lead.

However, Milwaukee answered back in the bottom of the seventh inning. Andruw Monasterio hit a solo home run to tie the game at three.

The game remained tied until the tenth inning, when things unraveled for Milwaukee. Andrew Chafin started the inning by throwing eight balls in eleven pitches. That included a bases loaded walk that gave Colorado the 4-3 lead. Abner Uribe relieved Chafin and couldn't find the strike zone either. Uribe walked his first two batters, giving the Rockies a 6-3 lead. That was followed by a strike out, and that seemed to allow Uribe to turn the corner. A sacrifice fly extended the Colorado lead to 7-3. That would be the final.

The Brewers will go for the series win on Wednesday afternoon at 1:10pm at American Family Field.
