McFarland fourth grade teacher in jail on child enticement charge

A McFarland School District teacher is in the Dane County Jail facing several charges — including child enticement.

Authorities booked Andrew Meeks into the Dane County Jail Tuesday evening on charges of child enticement, exposing a child to harmful material and causing mental harm to a child, according to online Sheriff’s Office records.

Meeks, according to the district’s website, is a fourth grade teacher at Waubesa Intermediate School.

McFarland Chief of Police Craig Sherven said his officers arrested Meeks “following an intensive investigation into his activities involving a juvenile.”

Police encouraged anyone with information to contact Investigator John Miller at (608) 838-3151.
