Madison police unable to grill suspect about stolen chicken

MADISON (WKOW) — In one of the more unusual calls police received over the weekend, a woman on Madison’s east side reported someone snuck onto her property and ate some chicken that she had been preparing.

When police responded about 3:15 a.m. Monday, a woman told police that she had chicken marinating in the backyard and the suspect put the chicken on the grill, cooked it and began to eat it.

According to a Madison Police Chief Mike Koval’s blog, when confronted by the caller’s boyfriend, the suspect stated that they should thank him for making their chicken.

The suspect left northbound on Seventh Street prior to police arrival.

The caller then decided against speaking with police and returned to bed.

The suspect was never located, so police were unable to grill him about the incident.
