Suspected Identified in Beloit Shooting

 Beloit Police have identified a suspect in a Wednesday shooting on Oak Street as 20-year-old Deangelo Thomas.

 Police say Thomas and another suspect were attempting to rob the 15-year-old male victim when another man, a 41-year-old tried to help the victim. The man was shot in the abdomen and is now in the hospital in stable but serious condition. The 15-year-old male is in stable condition after being shot in the legs.

Police say Thomas has ties to the Rockford and Beloit area. 

The second suspect is described as a male black with a darker complexion between 5’8” and 5’9”, a thin to average build with a goatee wearing a white baseball hat, a baby blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and baby blue retro Air Jordan shoes.

Police are also looking for a silver pickup truck that was used in the incident. If you know anything police ask that you call Beloit Police at 608-757-2245.

One person is in critical condition and a second person is in stable condition after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Beloit.

Police say they still are looking for the shooter. 

According to a post on the Beloit Police Department's Facebook page, the shooting happened in the 700 block of Oak Street. Right now, the road is closed from St. Lawrence Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue. Authorities are asking everyone to avoid the area.
