Woman arrested in Fitchburg stabbing

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Police say a suspect is in jail after a late-night stabbing in Fitchburg.

On Sunday, April 1 around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the 2600 block of Post Road. The victim was attacked with a knife, but police say that person will survive.

Officers say they got information the suspect was still inside the apartment building where the stabbing happened. They were able to find her and arrest her without incident.

Police say this was not a random act. The suspect and victim know each other.

The suspect was booked into the Dane County Jail. She faces tentative charges of disorderly conduct while armed, substantial battery while armed and recklessly endangering safety while armed. Her name was not released by the Fitchburg Police Department.
