Janesville Police identify victim in Wednesday shooting

 Janesville Police have identified the victim in the shooting Wedensday in Janesville.

Police say Anthony C. Hibbler, 32, Janesville was was shot during a dispute with a man he knew.

Police arrested Dominick Verdina, 22, who faces a charge of second-degree intentional homicide.

Police say the first officer that responded to the shooting found a 32-year-old man that had multiple gunshot wounds to his legs, hand and upper torso. Officers found the suspect in a vehicle nearby and arrested him.

The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital and underwent surgery for his wounds. Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other, and this incident appears to the result of an ongoing feud between the two.

Janesville Police are asking people to avoid the area around Holiday Drive because of a shooting.

Shots were fired in the 1500 block of Holiday Drive and Janesville Police are currently investigating.

Police say a victim has been taken to a local hospital. A suspect has been taken into custody and police are not looking for any other suspects.

The Rock County dispatch center says Janesville police are responding to a report of someone with a gunshot wound.

Officers were sent to 1504 Holiday Drive in Janesville around 2:40 p.m.
