Weather causes deadly crash on I-39/90 on east side of Madison

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Weather was the cause of a deadly crash on the east side of Madison Friday morning, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-39/90 when it hydroplaned and hit a wall. The vehicle stopped in a lane of traffic and was hit by another car.

One person was pronounced dead on scene.

Authorities say the ramps from US 151 northbound and southbound to I-39/90/94 SB remain blocked.

UPDATE (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol has confirmed that the crash that's blocking I-39/90 eastbound at US 151 is fatal.

MADISON (WKOW) -- A crash in the eastbound lanes of I-39/90 at the exit to US 151 is impacting traffic near Sun Prairie Friday morning.

The 27 Traffic Tracker says it happened at about 5:30 a.m. 

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the left lane of I-39/90/94 southbound is blocked at US 151. The ramps from US 151 northbound and southbound to I-39/90/94 southbound are also blocked.
