Attempt to break 'world's largest cheeseboard' record

MADISON (WKOW) -- The team at Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin will attempt to break a world record.

The group will be trying to build the world's largest cheeseboard on Wednesday. Construction will take place at the corner of Main Street and King Street in downtown Madison.

Current plans show the cheeseboard will be 35 feet long by 7 feet wide and will display more than 4,000 pounds of cheese. Once the record is clinched, all of the cheese will then be donated to the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.

A judge from Guinness World Records will be on hand.

Organizers think the cheeseboard will be complete and ready for the public to see by about 5:30 p.m.
