Two convicted sex offenders released from prison earlier this year will be living in the same house on River Road in the town of Westport, authorities reported.
Steven Howell and Waylon Redding are the sex offenders, according to a news release for a community notification meeting scheduled for Aug. 21, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Dane County Law Enforcement Center, 5184 Highway 19.
"Authorities will provide citizens with information about protective behaviors and personal safety," said spokeswoman Elise Schaffer. "Neither of these men are wanted by authorities at this time. The information is not intended to increase fear but rather to inform the public."
Schaffer told Madison.com it was unclear when the two men will start living in the residence, or what type of residence it is.
Howell, 28, was convicted in 2004 and 2005 for repeated sexual assault of a child, and Redding, 33, was convicted in 1999 for second-degree sexual assault of a child.
Photos of both men will be handed out at the community notification meeting, as well as more details about their crimes.
